I am a middle-aged, single/widower, semi-retired/self-employed computer geek and speed addict. No, not THAT speed. I don't do drugs. I build, drive and race sports cars and, formerly, motorcycles. I have a Masters degree in Computer Science and the bulk of my professional career has been based in research. First medical research at the U.T. Health Sciences Center in San Antonio, Texas, and then research for folks like NASA, ARPA/DARPA, the DOE and, mostly, the DOD. The government work was through Southwest Research Institute (SwRI). I consider myself a scientist, but function mostly as a software developer and systems analyst. I have one son, in spirit if not DNA. He did take my name, which I just love, and I love our conversations. He is also a hopeless egg-head and instead of sports, we usually end up talking about philosophy, quantum physics, the nature of consciousness or sci-fi books or movies. I live very modestly (except for the sports car thing) and have buddhist tendencies. I have and love cats. I also love photography and sometimes wish that was what I did for a living.
